I'm sure that all of you with children know that each child comes with very different personalities. We have always been amazed at what polar opposites our children are. Who would have guessed we would have a son who is a soft-hearted, quiet child and our daughter is a rough and tumble, not so quiet child.
Halloween is a time that our childrens' true personalities shine through. Let me illustrate by listing some of our kids choices in costumes.
Josh- Anakin Skywalker (before he became Darth Vadar), a Huffle Puff student (the peacemaking house from Harry Potter), a dragon (a nice one not a scary one of course), Buzz Lightyear, and a mad scientist (it could be scary, but not so much with Josh).
Breanna- a witch, a ghost, a black cat (a scary one, not a nice one), and a vampire.
(I always thought I would have a little daughter that I could make a cute fairy costume or a princess costume for, but no way. Not my Breanna. She only likes the scary things. )
OK, there were a couple of Halloweens that they may have broken this mold. Breanna once was a Cowgirl (when she was three) and she was a flower when she was two (but that was no choice of hers, she hated it). And Joshua once was a bat. But, in fairness, Joshua's bat (as he adamantly pointed out) was a nice bat, not a vampire bat (he refused to wear false teeth, because he was a good bat).
So with that being said, here are some pictures of our mad scientist and our vampire taken before a neighborhood party and our ward trunk-or-treat.
