State Fair of Texas

Last Saturday we went to the State Fair of Texas. We've been one other time several years ago. It was so hot the last time we went that we haven't been since. But this year it was nice (in the mid 80s).

We had a nice time seeing many different shows. Jason and Josh liked the bird show the best. They had many different birds from all over the world. It was really funny but also quite fascinating. Josh loved the owls but this bird was my favorite...


Breanna liked the two dog shows we saw the best, not surprisingly. The dogs were amazing. They could do flips while catching Frisbees, jump around on two feet, jump over high hurdles etc. They also had a three legged dog who did a flying jump into water to catch a Frisbee. I didn't get any pictures because my camera was almost out of battery and I didn't want to use it indoors because it took too much battery.

We also enjoyed Boris a 1200 pound pig...,

the butter sculpture (yes, it is all butter)...,

the car and truck shows (Josh liked the corvette)...,

Behemoth the bull, (Jason's has always wanted to ride one)...,

a BMX stunt show, an African acrobat group, and we had some great 5$ bottled water and dippin' dots.

The kids also got to show off their soccer skills. Can you tell which child actually kicks a soccer ball on a regular basis?




It was a fun time, very crowed, but fun nonetheless.
