We had a good turnout of over 200 people with plenty of chili and yummy desserts to choose from. We provided salad and corn bread muffins. We went way overboard on these items and had so many leftovers. I was trying to keep our costs down so we would have plenty of money for Christmas, but I didn't do too well. Hopefully we can make a nice Christmas party with the money we
Here are the aprons I painted as the prizes for the winners. That was the funnest part for me about planning this activity. I enjoy this kind of thing.
Yesterday we went to Home Depot to build a wooden firetruck (Joshua needs a couple of these things for his Webelos badge), went shopping for shoes (Josh and I both needed new running shoes), then Breanna had a soccer game.
Bree's favorite part of the game was squirting herself and her teammates with the squirt bottle while she sat on the sidelines while she wasn't on the field. Who knew that a small squirt bottle could bring so much pleasure to these little gals. It was good she had this water bottle because it was 90 degrees yesterday (our fall hasn't come quite yet).
Right after the game the Murry kids (some of the kids' best friends) came over for a sleepover while their parents had a night to themselves. This was a first for our kids so they had been l
ooking forward to this for the whole week.
Josh and Zach played video games pretty much the whole day and evening. Breanna, Kaitlyn and Jonathan just played all kinds of different games. In the evening while Jason was gone to the priesthood session the girls watched "Hairspray". They both enjoy this movie quite a bit. They sang and danced through the whole show. They were so funny as they sang. They didn't know most of the words so they would sing the few words they knew really loudly (usually the chorus) then they would mumble the other words. I tried to get it on video without them knowing but Breanna caught me and she wouldn't do it after that. Here is the short clip I did get.
They all slept well and the kids have had a great time with their friends.
