It was announced today that this summer (June-August) the state of Texas officially beat the record for the hottest summer on record in the entire US. Oklahoma held the old record, back in 1934, during the dust bowl years. So I wasn't crazy when I was always complaining about the heat, it was really HOT.
BUT this week has been wonderful. The highs have dropped into the 80s. We've been out walking our dogs, jumping on the trampoline, my running times have dropped over 40 seconds per mile (just since last week), it is amazing what a bit of nice weather does for the mood.
