In my defense....

First of all, the kids really do love their animals. Yes, Aggie might scare the kids a bit, but this is only because she jumps on everyone and loves to lick with her enormous, gross tongue. We wouldn't still own Aggie if it weren't for many tears shed in her behalf by our children. The kids love Aggie, but just from a distance.

The kids also adore Chewy. This might be because he is very small and can't do much damage (although he did use the bathroom in Joshua's hand yesterday), but still they love him. He is quite entertaining too. It is fun to wonder what is going through his little mind as he runs for hours on his wheel.

Secondly, don't let Jason fool you into thinking he doesn't like our animals, because he does. Jason is the only one who spends any quality time with Aggie, and he really adores her. She in turn adores him. As soon as he walk out the back door, she immediately sits on his feet so he won't be able to leave her side. He is then forced to scratch her for the next 15 minutes. It really is a sweet sight to see the two of them together.

I have also caught Jason watching Chewy in his cage from time to time. Besides the fact that Jason won't touch Chewy or that he screamed like a frightened woman when he found him in our closet, I know he loves the little guy. Jason may talk tough, but he is really a pussycat at heart.

So again, in my defense, it really wasn't such an awful thing to bring these animals into our home. It may not been the smartest decision I have ever made, but it isn't awful!
