Today Breanna played her first soccer game with her new team. I wasn't able to go because Joshua had a basketball game at the same time, but Jason went to watch her. Because she is the oldest and has had the most experience of all the girls, she got 10 out of their 15 goals. We are trying to let her know how much we enjoy watching her play and how we expect her to put forth her best effort, but it is hard as a parent to know how much praise is too much praise. She seems to know that she does well on the field so she likes to let everyone know she is good. How do you encourage them to do their best without letting everything go to their head?
Maybe it is OK for them to think they are the best at this age because things are bound to change as they get older and they need all the help they can get with their confidence. Who knows?
Way off the subject, Breanna is a very particular gal when it comes to her fashions. She knows exactly what she wants and doesn't like people to contradict her. She is now into the two ponytail look. She refuses to have her hair any other way lately. It's cute and all but variety is nice too. She is a character.
