Her basketball team consists of 1st and 2nd graders. She is by far the youngest and smallest out there. On Saturday I couldn't help but smile at her as she had to defend a gal that was huge. The top of Breanna's head didn't quite make it to this girl's armpits. It was so cute to watch her try and guard this girl. Bree would jump up and down waving her arms with all her might but the girl didn't even seem to notice she was there. All the parents were commenting how cute it was. I will say that Breanna gives it 110% out there though. She is a tough little cookie.
Well, yesterday Breanna had her first soccer practice of the season. We were a bit surprised and disappointed to find out that she was put on a younger team than all of her friends (she is playing with kindergarteners). We switched soccer leages this season for several reasons including the fact that this league was a better leauge overall. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the cut off date in this new league was July 31st instead of Sept. 1st like the other one. So, Breanna is back to playing 3 on 3 like she was two seasons ago (where the other kids in her grade are doing 5 on 5).
Because she is the oldest and most experienced she was doing a great job at practice. The other parents were saying how she is the star of the team and how she was so good she'll end up with scholarships. It just made us laugh because we know that it is only because she has had much more experience than these other girls.
Hopefully Breanna will still enjoy it.
